Digital cello enthusiasts may like their standards from other brands. Murst Instruments’ Legato Cello is a steal at $29 USD and won’t be the classical variety but will add a uniqueness to any standard pop track or film score. With some points in my account from Plugin Boutique, I snapped it up for $15!

For my The Pact film score, I worked with a mix of cello sounds, one of them being Murst Instrument’s nifty, little tool. Available for the free Kontakt Player 6.3.1 and above, it requires a low 100MB of free drive space.

For anyone who loves horror and naturally has a spooky composing style, the sound with some reverb enhances the eerie on its own as a solo line. Atop other blends, it is really something magical!

Legato Cello is available at Plugin Boutique.
